Simple Jazz Series  /  Warner Music

Simple jazz is rather a dichotomy. Musically, jazz is rarely simple — yet visually it is typically represented in a direct way. My approach with this series was name, title and 'logotype' imagery. I played on the conceptual language, often seen in editorial illustration used in magazines and newspapers. A 'play on words' or a pun. This gave the series a clarity, which was enhanced by muted colours.
