Designing for instrumental albums can lead towards a photographic solution, as instruments are difficult to describe visually with an illustration. Yet for this series I wanted to pair down the imagery. Simple shapes and repeated forms across the covers made them instantly connected and collectable — using our visual memory of the instrument, as a shorthand to legibility.
